Nasa’s UFO report: What we learned from UAP study

A Nasa probe into hundreds of UFO sightings found there was no evidence aliens were behind the unexplained phenomena, but the space agency also could not rule out that possibility.

If the truth is out there, this long-awaited report offers no conclusive evidence.

But it did outline how Nasa will investigate what it calls UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) with improved technology and artificial intelligence.

Nasa administrator Bill Nelson said the US space agency will not only take the lead in researching possible UAP incidents, but will share data with more transparency.

The report is 36 pages of quite technical and scientific observations, so here are some of the key takeaways.

There’s no proof aliens exist, but they might

The very last page of the report said “there is no reason to conclude” that extra-terrestrial sources are behind the hundreds of UAP sightings Nasa has investigated.

“However, if we acknowledge that as one possibility, then those objects must have travelled through our solar system to get here,” the report said.

Although the report did not conclude extra-terrestrial life exists, Nasa didn’t deny the possibility of “potential unknown alien technology operating in Earth’s atmosphere”.

Lots more, including alien corpses in Mexico.

UFO Sightings have spiked

An interesting follow up to the presentation Keith  Braithwaite gave us at the July 11th MonSFFA meeting.

WINNIPEG — There’s been a significant increase in UFO sightings across Canada during the pandemic, according to a UFO researcher.

Chris Rutkowski, a ufology researcher, said Canada keeps track of all the UFOs reported throughout the years.

In 2019, there were 849 cases, a 10 per cent decrease from the year before, but it seems things – and Canadians – are looking up this year.

“We’re looking at increases of about 50 per cent from this time last year, so for some reason, people are reporting more UFOs during lockdown,” Rutkowski said.

Interesting UFO stories, declassified military video

Professor Donderi who was a guest last year at a MonSFFA meeting, author of UFOs, ETs and Alien Abductions has sent us a couple of stories that have crossed his desk recently. They make interesting reading!

The first is from the NY Times. I’ve pasted in the first part as a sort of teaser, do look up the full article. https://nyti.ms/2kB62aH.  It has pictures and videos.

The second article is from the Washington Post and I pasted the first bit below. Find the full article with accompanying video here.

Glowing Auras and ‘Black Money’: The Pentagon’s Mysterious U.F.O. Program

WASHINGTON — In the $600 billion annual Defense Department budgets, the $22 million spent on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program was almost impossible to find.

Which was how the Pentagon wanted it.

For years, the program investigated reports of unidentified flying objects, according to Defense Department officials, interviews with program participants and records obtained by The New York Times. It was run by a military intelligence official, Luis Elizondo, on the fifth floor of the Pentagon’s C Ring, deep within the building’s maze.

The Defense Department has never before acknowledged the existence of the program, which it says it shut down in 2012. But its backers say that, while the Pentagon ended funding for the effort at that time, the program remains in existence. For the past five years, they say, officials with the program have continued to investigate episodes brought to them by service members, while also carrying out their other Defense Department duties.

Christopher Mellon served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence in the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations. He is a private equity investor and an adviser to the To the Stars Academy for Arts and Science.

In December, the Defense Department declassified two videos documenting encounters between U.S. Navy F-18 fighters and unidentified aircraft. The first video captures multiple pilots observing and discussing a strange, hovering, egg-shaped craft, apparently one of a “fleet” of such objects, according to cockpit audio. The second shows a similar incident involving an F-18 attached to the USS Nimitz carrier battle group in 2004.

The videos, along with observations by pilots and radar operators, appear to provide evidence of the existence of aircraft far superior to anything possessed by the United States or its allies. Defense Department officials who analyze the relevant intelligence confirm more than a dozen such incidents off the East Coast alone since 2015. In another recent case, the Air Force launched F-15 fighters last October in a failed attempt to intercept an unidentified high-speed aircraft looping over the Pacific Northwest .

A third declassified video, released by To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science , a privately owned media and scientific research company to which I’m an adviser, reveals a previously undisclosed Navy encounter that occurred off the East Coast in 2015.

UFOs The True Story of Flying Saucers, 1956

This was posted by Carl Slaughter on on File 770.

By Carl Slaughter: On July 29, 1952, the Pentagon held a press conference about flying saucers.

Whether or not you believe in UFOs, this documentary is an excellent history of the UFO phenomenon.

The flying saucer phenomenon began on June 24, 1947, after Kenneth Arnold reported to his airport tower sighting nine saucer-shaped vessels flying at extremely fast speed in echelon formation over the mountains of Washington state. When Arnold landed, the local media was waiting for him. The wire services picked up the story. Within 24 hours, newspapers all over the country ran front page headlines about the Arnold report. Suddenly more and more people claimed flying saucer sightings. UFOs had entered American culture.

On January 7, 1948, Kentucky Air National Guard pilot Captain Thomas Mantell crashed and died while in pursuit of a UFO. The public and the military began to take flying saucer sightings much more seriously because Mantell’s death indicated a possible alien hostile presence on Earth. (Another concern was that the vessels might be Soviet. This was at the beginning of the Cold War.) On October 1, 1948, North Dakota Air National Guard second lieutenant George Gorman engaged in an extended chase with a UFO that had speed and maneuverability far beyond any human vessel at the time.

In response to these and other UFO encounters, the Pentagon launched Project Bluebook and other investigation projects. The CIA launched the Robertson Panel and Congress launched the Condon Committee. Project Bluebook was finally shut down in 1970.
