We Are Just Days Away From MonSFFA’s Super Sci-Fi Book Sale!

We are just a few days away from MonSFFA’s Super Sci-Fi Book Sale! Club members, and sci-fi readers in general, mark this Saturday, October 25 in your calendars!
And put together a stash of coins and folding money for this utterly amazing, astounding, astonishing bargain-bonanza of an opportunity to stock up on all your fall and winter sci-fi reading! Get in some early Christmas shopping, too!
Paperbacks, hardcovers, trades, plus many comics, magazines, and even a few DVDs—we’ll have thousands of titles available, by authors from Asimov to Zelazny, and at the lowest prices in all of the Seven Kingdoms and known space! Take advantage of our “Bulk Book Bargains”—the more you buy, the more you save!
The Super Sci-Fi Book Sale will take place in “Salle St-Mathieu” at the downtown Nouvel Hotel, 1740 Boul. René-Lévesque O. (corner St-Mathieu)! Doors open at 12:00PM!
So spread the word to family, friends, and co-workers! And bring a couple of fellow SF/F fans with you to the sale!
Help us stage this event by volunteering to lend a hand with unpacking and set-up! We’ll need volunteers on Friday, evening before the sale, and Saturday morning, day of the sale! If you are able to lend a hand, please meet up with us at the Nouvel Hotel Friday evening at 6:30PM, and/or Saturday morning at 10:00AM. We thank you in advance for helping make this book sale possible!

EVENING COMET ALERT: Comet Lemmon (C/2025 A6) is approaching Earth for a close encounter on Oct. 21st. Already an easy target for binoculars and ordinary cameras, the comet could become a naked-eye object in the nights ahead. Details and finder charts @ Spaceweather.com.

Auroras are possible tonight: Multiple CMEs are expected to strike Earth on Oct. 16-17, bringing a chance of photographic auroras to northern-tier US states. Sign up for Space Weather Alerts to receive instant text messages when the CMEs arrive.

We trust everyone enjoyed a Happy Thanksgiving! The weather was certainly agreeable over the long holiday weekend! Now, here’s one more thing for which the discerning SF/F fan can be thankful: MonSFFA’s annual Super Sci-Fi Book Sale!
This is a quick reminder not only to club members, but to the larger SF/F community as well: the Super Sci-Fi Book Sale will take place in less than two weeks, on Saturday, October 25!

Annual Moon Night Event at Morgan Arboretum

Morgan Arboretum, public event, free admission
Join RASC Montreal for our annual Moon Night event in-person Sat Oct 4 at 7pm. This year features a bilingual Public Event with a talk on lunar observing followed by music, poetry & a constellations activity by the Dark Sky Preserve book and album project.
This free public event is a GO regardless of clear skies or rain, dress accordingly! Coffee, tea & cookies will be provided – donations are welcome to help fund our Outreach events.

Joignez-vous à la RASC Montréal pour notre soirée annuelle « Nuit de la Lune » en personne le samedi 4 octobre à 19 h. Cette année, l’événement public bilingue comprend une conférence sur l’observation lunaire, suivie de musique, de poésie et d’une activité sur les constellations par le projet de livre et d’album Dark Sky Preserve.
