Club Field trip to ECOMUSEUM is this Weekend!

NEWS FLASH!

We interrupt this post to bring you breaking news…

King Otterah has been spotted on the West Island! Canadian Titans have recently been awakening across the nation, mystifying scientists at the National Research Council! Action News captured this image of King Otterah looming over unsuspecting shoppers at the Fairview Mall. The whereabouts of Beavra, meanwhile, last seen in 2003, remain unknown at this time!

In entertainment news, scriptwriters at MonSFFilms have begun work on a new Canadian Kaiju film entitled “Beavra: Governor General of the Monsters!”

We now return you to your regular post…

Just a quick reminder: MonSFFAs field trip to the West Island’s Ecomuseum will take place this coming weekend! So as to enter together, we will first meet in the parking lot just outside the main entrance to the facility at 11:00AM, Sunday, June 9!

Featuring both indoor and outdoor exhibits, this zoological park is home to over 100 species of animals indigenous to Quebec—wolves, foxes, bears, lynx, deer, caribou, racoons (of the weapons-free, non-talking type!), a variety of birds, including an assortment of raptors (not those kind! Or, for that matter, the basketball team!), and various reptiles, amphibians and fish. The fast-moving and playful river otters are a highlight of the  nature trail!

CARPOOLS:

Contact club president Cathy Palmer-Lister (President@MonSFFA.ca) to arrange for a ride, or, if you are driving, to offer a lift to your fellow club members. We have been matching riders to drivers.

Attention drivers: you will be asked to pick-up passengers at a convenient, pre-arranged Metro station at no later than 10:30AM. To get to the Ecomuseum, take Autoroute 40 to Morgan Boulevard (exit 44) and follow the blue tourism signs to the zoo.

Finally, after our visit, we are thinking of taking in a movie (probably Godzilla: King of the Monsters) at the nearby Colisée Kirkland Theatre.

See you Sunday…
