This October 2026 issue sets up our upcoming Super Sci-Fi Book Sale (Events Column), looks ahead to November’s scheduled club meeting, and reviews our recent September meeting, highlighting a virtual visit on that occasion by SF writer Sean Robins!

PLEASE NOTE: We have just received word of a last-minute change of function room from our venue managers regarding the Super Sci-Fi Book Sale!

Unfortunately, this news came after October’s issue of Impulse had been put to bed, and so the news bulletin does not reflect that change, which is simply this: the sale will be held in “Salle René-Lévesque,” adjoining the hotel’s restaurant, rather than in the originally advertised “Salle St-Mathieu.” We’ve updated scheduled posts on the club’s Website accordingly, but the word came too late to update our October issue of Impulse.

FOR THOSE VOLUNTEERING TO HELP WITH OUR BOOK SALE: Also, for those volunteering to help with the book sale set/up, we are meeting up in the lobby of the Nouvel Hotel at 6:00PM this Friday evening, October 16, and again at about 10:00AM on Saturday morning, October 17, the day of the sale. The book sale opens to the public at 12:00PM, Saturday, October 17.

Enjoy your issue of Impulse today!
