Hi, I received a notice from Sandra Phillips concerning a sale of collectibles. A few of the items might interest MonSFFA members and friends. They will be sold at the  citywide DDO Yard sale next weekend, May 24 &25.–Cathy

This is Sandra Phillips from Smart Shopping Montreal. I had your contact for collectibles and thought that perhaps I should reach out to you.. I have a large collection which I am ready to part with.

Many vintage (1970’s with wooden people) Fisher Price Toys (boat, airport, town, school, school bus, musical instruments in case, etc ) and a few collectible toys from 70′ & 80’s or $50’s ones.

Bid for World Con in Montreal is filed

With Tel Aviv suspending its bid for obvious reasons, Montreal might well be the site for World Con in 2027–Cathypl

The Montréal 2027 Worldcon bid filed its official bid to host the 2027 Worldcon with Seattle 2025 on December 7, 2024, and the bid was accepted by Seattle 2025. See the Worldcon Bids Page for links to the documents in the bid filing.

On the same day, the Tel Aviv 2027 Worldcon bid sent an announcement to SMOFCon 41 for presentation to the Worldcon Q&A session announcing that the bid is suspended. Tel Aviv in 2027 bid chair Guy Kovel wrote: “Regrettably, due to the situation in Israel, we would have to push our bid to a later year, we have not yet made an announcement as we are still in internal discussions as to what year we would be able to bid for.”

The deadline for filing bids to host the 2027 Worldcon is February 14, 2025. Instructions for filing a 2027 Worldcon bid are on the 2025 Worldcon website.

Yes, it’s once again time to open voting for the 2025 FAAn Awards (for work first published in 2024), fanzine fandom’s only dedicated honors.
Attached you will find The Incompleat Register 2024 voters’ guide for this year’s awards. To repeat some of the salient points within (but please also read the voting procedure):
Closing date for votes to be received is midnight Pacific time, March 29 2025.
The Incompleat Register is NOT intended to define who or what you can or cannot vote for (The listings define the proper categorization of fanzines from 2024 known to the Administrator, who cannot possibly be aware of everything. Ballots are accepted in good faith)
 
You do NOT have to use the specific form provided (A simple list will do)
You do NOT have to be a member of Corflu or anything else (Voting is open to anyone with an interest in fanzines. There is no other requirement or fee)
The results will be announced at the Corflu 42 banquet on April 13 2025 and disseminated widely thereafter.
As always, we encourage other faneds and purveyors of fannish news to publicize the awards and encourage voting from their own readers. TIR will also be available on the Corflu and efanzines websites and in various online groups shortly.
