    1. Festival Stop Motion Montreal<\/strong><\/a> is coming back for an 11<\/strong><\/span>th<\/span><\/sup><\/strong> edition<\/strong>, next fall, from September 20 to 22<\/strong> at Concordia University. In addition to the traditional film screenings and lectures, we will once again offer professional workshops, the week before the official launch of our festivities. Three workshops will be organized from September 16 to 20.<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      We invite you to submit your films today! Our 2019 call for entries is open now until June 30, 2019<\/strong>, and as always, submissions are free. To do so, simply use our new submission form supported by Zone Festival<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

      2. The Throne of Knives, (also forks and spoons): <\/strong>About 300 forks, knives and spoons are separated each day from the food remains of the Uppsala populace, by their local biogas plant. In order to, in a fun way, show how important it is to sort properly, Uppsala water has built a magnificent cutlery throne.<\/p>\n

      The cutlery throne consists of about 4,000 pieces of cutlery which corresponds to two weeks of cleaning. The cutlery has been washed and then welded together. The throne weighs\u00a0 about120 kg.\u00a0 About\u00a0 3,5 tons of cutlery is sorted out from the waste every year,\u00a0 which means around 100 000 pieces.       3. Stephen Thorne who acted in Dr Who and is noted for his work on audio books has passed away, aged 84.<\/strong>
      \n<\/strong><\/a>Television credits were many and included roles in Z Cars, Crossroads, Sexton Blake, David Copperfield<\/i> and Last of the Summer Wine<\/i>.\u00a0 His voice was suited to Radio work where roles included Aslan in The Magicians Nephew<\/i>, Treebeard in The Lord of the Rings<\/i>, and Colon in Terry Pratchett’s Guards!       4. 2019 Chesley Award Finalists (for 2018 Works):\u00a0 <\/b>This is the official final nomination list for the 34th annual ASFA awards, the Chesleys. The Chesleys, named for the great astronomical artist Chesley Bonestell, started in 1985 as a means for the Science Fiction and Fantasy art community to recognize individual works and achievements in a given year. This year’s awards are for works and achievements in the period from January 1st to December 31st 2018.<\/p>\n
