Quantum Quietus by won First<br \/>\nPrize in the contest. Qalnoth\u2019s Favor by Gustavo Bondoni won second prize. Bob Jenning\u2019s Trash Smashers won third prize; he has given us his tale A Girl Child of Medium Price. Andrew Darling received honorable mention; his contribution here is his poem Tales of Weird\u00a0 Science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A few words of appreciation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qalnoth\u2019s Favor<\/strong> is a tale of swords and sorcery, a god\u2019s statue with a giant pink diamond, and a fast-talking rogue who strives to<br \/>\navoid a swift hanging.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Girl Child of Medium Price<\/strong> is a modern adventure in the style of H. Rider Haggard, with slave markets, gun smugglers and an evil ancient cult.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quantum Quietus<\/strong> is rigorously hard science fiction that explores possible consequences of reliable short-range precognition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AI1A<\/strong> explores the cruelty of children and interesting applications of technology.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Fistful of Brifgars<\/strong> trods firmly and with great success on the notion that you cannot just transplant tales from the Old West to outer space.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marionettes<\/strong> carefully feeds the reader all the evidence needed to understand why humanity is being destroyed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who Slays Satan<\/strong> first graced the pages of Eldritch Science some 25 years ago.
