\"\"<\/a>MonSFFA’s 2026 Barbecue-in-the-Park<\/b>\u00a0is scheduled to take place today, Sunday, July 12<\/b>, in Parc Maisonneuve!<\/b>\u00a0The weather forecasts predict sunny skies<\/b>, so the club confirms that the event is a “go!”<\/b>\u00a0Parc Maisonneuve is located next to<\/b>\u00a0the Botanical Gardens<\/b>\u00a0complex and across<\/b>\u00a0the street from<\/b>\u00a0the Olympic Stadium<\/b>, in the city\u2019s East End (major bus routes along Sherbrooke Est, Viau, or Pie IX; Metro Viau or Pie IX).<\/p>\n

We expect to claim a picnic table or two around our usual spot, so look for us there from about 11:00AM to 4:00PM<\/b>, along one of the lines of trees separated by open field, not too far from the park\u2019s chalet, which houses convenient and well-maintained washroom facilities.<\/div>\n
\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Bring family, bring friends; all are welcome<\/strong> to join us for a relaxing afternoon of fresh air and sunshine, food\u00a0and refreshments, and fun with fellow sci-fi fans!<\/p>\n

As always, individuals <\/b>are responsible for <\/b>bringing their own soft drinks, juices, or other libations, as well as any hotdogs, hamburgers, or chicken fillets they may wish to grill<\/b>\u2014the club will supply <\/b>a gas barbecue<\/b>. Folk may also contribute a snack item or two\u2014potato chips, cookies, Timbits, apples, a vegetable plate, etc. You may also cart in your own lawn chair or picnic blanket, should you wish. Feel free, as well, to bring along an outdoor game, such as lawn darts, horseshoes, a kickball or Frisbee. And remember your sunscreen!<\/i><\/i><\/p>\n

For out-of-town club members in particular, who cannot attend our Barbecue-in-the-Park, we also host, at a later date, a Virtual Picnic<\/b>\u00a0online, via ZOOM<\/b>.\"\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Folk are invited to prepare and enjoy their own picnic lunch at home while taking part in our ZOOM-Chat<\/b>\u00a0as a means of touching base with <\/b>their many MonSFFriends<\/b>! The conversation is casual, the topics varied, and the camaraderie congenial!<\/div>\n
