We look ahead to this summer in Genre books, films, etc.\u00a0 Presenter(s)\/Moderator: Keith Braithwaite<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333399;\">June 13 Away Team<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>The club embarks upon an excursion to an away-from-meeting-room locale\u2014museum, exhibition, theatre, or such\u2014 preferably having at least a tangential association with the sciences, and\/or the SF\/F universe. Field Trip destination to be determined by the membership in advance of the event.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333399;\">July 12<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> SUNDAY<span style=\"color: #333399;\"> Shore Leave<\/span><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>Sunday in the park, 19th\u00a0 in case of rain: Club members convene in Parc Maisonneuve\u2014adjacent Montreal\u2019s Botanical Gardens\u2014for an outdoor barbecue\/picnic and afternoon of relaxation in the park. Each individual supplies their own lunch, plus snacks to share; club supplies grill<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333399;\">July 26 Zoom only<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Virtual Picnic:<\/strong> Club members convene online via ZOOM for a casual summertime get-together, essentially, a virtual version of the Barbecue-in-the-Park, for the benefit of those out-of-towners and others who could not attend the Barbecue in person.<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #333399;\">August 15 Makers&#8217;\u00a0 Workshop<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><strong>Fancraft Workshops:\u00a0<\/strong> A series of SF\/F-themed, hands-on crafting workshops running concurrently throughout the afternoon. These are designed both to showcase a specific craft, demonstrating the \u201chow-to,\u201d and to encourage MonSFFen to try their hand at one or more of the featured \u201cFancrafts.\u201d Sci-Fi Origami and SF\/F Jewellery-Making are planned; one or two other workshops yet to be determined.
