Waugh, and Waugh&#8217;s then-teenage daughter Jenny-Lynn Waugh<a href=\"http:\/\/www.monsffa.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/186692.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-31041 \" src=\"http:\/\/www.monsffa.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/186692-206x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"127\" height=\"185\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monsffa.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/186692-206x300.jpg 206w, https:\/\/www.monsffa.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/186692.jpg 311w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 127px) 100vw, 127px\" \/><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The anthology sat on one of my less accessible bookcases for a few years, until I rediscovered it while packing up for my recent move to a new apartment.<\/p>\n<p>The stories are mostly quite short &#8211; some of them are barely two pages &#8211; and are of vastly differing levels of quality. Some of them &#8212; Algis Budrys&#8217;s &#8220;The Man Who Always Knew&#8221;! Poul Anderson&#8217;s &#8220;My Object All Sublime&#8221;! &#8212; are magnificent. Others are&#8230; considerably less so.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next [indefinite period of time], I will be reviewing every story in the anthology.
