From film programs, special guest conferences, animation workshops, interviews with the filmmakers to various live-streamed events, we had a virtual blast and hope you enjoyed it too! More than 1680 viewers tuned in to our VUCAVU platform to watch film screenings and masterclass conferences, with hundreds of unique participants joining the main online activities in addition to thousands of subscribers (new and loyal) on social networks. On behalf of the entire team, thank you for participating!

Festival Stop Motion Montreal goes viral! 

The 12th edition of Festival Stop Motion Montreal is quickly approaching and in the name of safety and accessibility, will run as a virtual edition this September 14 – 20, 2020! In order to serve the ever-growing and faithful stop motion community, and to roll with the pandemic punches, the event will be available online to the whole international community. All members of the public from far and wide can seize the opportunity to catch the most iconic and first-ever Festival dedicated solely to the art of stop motion from the comfort of their own homes.

A larger number of films will be showcased this year to highlight the creators and their amazing work, as more than 10 hours of screening entertainment awaits – that’s even more content than usually offered in theatres!

Keep an eye on our social media channels where this year’s official list of short films in competition will be revealed in the coming weeks, along with the professional workshop details and more exciting program announcements! The Festival’s Home Sweet Home 12th Edition program will also serve up renowned special guest conference speakers, behind the scenes interviews, new original content created especially for this unique virtual edition as well as online technical skills workshops running from September 14 to 17, 2020.

The Festival is delighted to collaborate this year and partner locally with VUCAVU; a Canadian bilingual streaming platform for independent film and video art where festival-goers will be able to access all of the 2020 activities online.
